| I don't have an iPod but, then, I don't get out much. I do have over 7,500 songs in my iTunes music folder and they range all over the map. Of course a lot of it is stuff from my younger years (the 60s etc) but by no means all. I have classical (various eras), a LOT of rock (various eras), a lot of techno and industrial stuff (also of various eras), some hard core, some goth, a little bit of country, hardly any jazz, I'm fond of Indian music and some middle eastern music. I have airTunes so I listen to my music not only from my Rokit5 KRKs but transmit it to my based-out 5.1 surround sound that fills my whole studio.
Just wondering, what do you guys listen too? I'm always interested to try new things out.
As I was poking around in the iTunes store just this evening I came across this podCast from the "GayTrucker": http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=89554495 Very nice disco shit (IMO).
I've only recently started listening to Pink and The Queers (although this one is more typical of their sound).
A friend just pointed me to this group: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOmm7fq1NxM << a bit down tempo for my taste but I do like the lyrics:
All you great men of power, you who boast of your feats, politicians and entrepreneurs: Can you safeguard your breath in the night while you sleep, keep your heart beating steady and sure? As you lie in your bed, does the thought haunt your head, that your really rather small? If there's one thing I know in this life, We are beggars all!
All you champions of science, And rulers of men: Can you summon the sun from its sleep? And does the earth seek your council on how fast to spin? Can you shut up the gates of the deep? And don't you know that all things, hang as if by string o'er the darkness, poised to fall? If there's one thing I know in this life, We are beggars all!
All you big-shots do swagger, and strive with conceit. Did you devise that your fray would be fought? If you've been raised in a palace, or live about on the streets, (did you) choose the place or the hour you'd be born? Tell me what can you claim? Not a thing! Not your name! Tell me if you can recall, just one thing, not a gift, in this life? Can you hear what's been said? Can you see now that everything's graced? After all, if there's one thing I know in this life, We are beggars all! |

| I've had a lot of Green Day, Nickelback, Hedley, Faber Drive, Three Doors Down and the Black Eyed Peas playing lately. Not sure why, just in the mood for random music. _________________ Even if you met the most perfect person in the world, who had everything you ever thought you wanted in someone, you would still find something about him that you didn’t like.

Well, Bobby is a happy change of pace! Certainly more mellow than Shinedown's rages.
Have you guys ever listened to David Fray's interpretations of Bach?
I can hear you saying "boring!" WELL -- maybe. But DAVID IS CUTE (for one thing to catch your attention) and he has a particularly youthful interpretation of the musical thoughts of a brain that has been dust for almost 300 years: Check him out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2I0tQIA_AE |

| Thought I would take the opportunity on this beautiful nearly-end-of-summer evening to entertain you all with a few MP3s. You know I listen to a lot of crazy stuff. Mostly I'm working when I have music going and I like music that is mostly up-beat to keep my energy up. When you're and old man like me, 'keeping your energy up', isn't quite the same as when you're young. Note I said "energy" -- I have no problems keeping other things up but that is probably more than you wanted to know. Anyway, first of all, this one by Apoptygma Berzerk, entitled "Fade to Black." (not to be confused with the Metalica's version, also covered by several groups including Apocalyptica (which is not Apoptygma)). This is a high-buzz techno-trance anthem that gets my heart pumpn' every time. It's probably over 10 years old, so the first time I heard it I was already around 50. But it instantly made me want to get out my glow sticks, glow in the dark pop beads and pacifier -- and get out on the dance floor with all the other horny, shirtless, and sweaty boys. All these are MP3 files you can download via the link. Apoptygma Berzerk: Fade to Blackyoutube version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur5p7n9l5RM OK, now that I have your attention, here is another "music for some crazy guy from another planet" that is somewhat in the same genre -- but not exactly. This is a live version of Underword's "Rez/Cowgirl". Talk about pumpn'. This is the kind of music I like to turn up so loud it makes my ears bleed. All my neighbors would complain to the building manager -- if I weren't the building manager. What REALLY gets me is how they start of singing "everything everything everything everything" but the more you get into the trance of it it begins to sound exactly like he's singing, "lsd lsd lsd lsd." If you listen to the lyrics and 'grock' them, then there can be no doubt this 'conflation' is DELIBERATE: Underworld: Rez/Cowgirlyoutube version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10q96IPlm70 i'm invisible... and a razor of love... why don't you call me i feel like flying in too... and a razor of love... why don't you call me i feel like flying in too... and a razor of love... and a razor of love...
i scream! i scream! i scream! i scream! i scream! i scream! i scream! i scream! i scream i scream i scream so much you know what i mean this electric stream and my tears in league with the wires and energy it's my machine, this is my beautiful dream
i'm hurting no one! hurting no one! hurting no one! i'm hurting no one!
i want to give you everything i want to give you energy want to give a good thing to give you everything
everythingeverythingeverythingeverything everythingeverythingeverythingeverything everythingeverything!
one final scream of love who couldn't climb this high she looks beautiful like a child a feel of tears and i want to scream you know what i mean
this is hurting no one! and a razor of love!
let go! let go! ooh ooh let go! let go!
yeah! ooh ooh ooh ooh let go! let go!
ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh let go! let go! oh no no no no no no!
Oh yeah. Man if that don't get you're blood pumpn' your dead already. What I hear him saying is something completely different (all these things repeated): everything/lsd/ • im invisible • ive been dead before • and recently lord • why dont you cum and feel like i need you to • i was dream'n • etc. Now for something completely different but then again not. THIS, my fine young gentlemen, is my FIRST audio composition. It is entitled "SinQ" (if you're of an inquisitive mind, you can search around and see if you can figure out why). It isn't much, just mucking about with an audio track from a documentary, but I think it is worth the price of admission: painter (aka mr mike 2 u): SinQHope everyone is having a HOT and horny summer!! |
