I come to this magnificent house of worship tonight, Because my conscience leaves me no other choice. A true revolution of values will lay hands on the world order and say of war: This way of settling differences is not just. This business of burning human beings with napalm, Filling our nation's homes with orphans and widows, Of injecting poisonous drugs of hate into veins of people normally humane.
Of sending men home from the dark and bloody battlefields physically handicapped and psychologically deranged, Cannot be reconciled with wisdom, justice and love. (x6)
IRIDESCENT
When you were standing in the wake of devastation when you were waiting on the edge of the unknown with the cataclysm raining down, insides crying save me now you were there and possibly alone.
Do you feel cold and lost in desperation you build up hope, but failure's all you've known remember all the sadness and frustration and let it go, let it go.
And in the burst of light that blinded every angel as if the sky had blown the heavens into stars you felt the gravity of temper grace falling into empty space no one there to catch you in their arms
Do you feel cold and lost in desperation you build up hope, but failure's all you've known remember all the sadness and frustration and let it go, let it go.
(Multiple Voices) Do you feel cold and lost in desperation you build up hope, but failure's all you've known remember all the sadness and frustration and let it go,
let it go let it go let it go let it go
Do you feel cold and lost in desperation you build up hope, but failure's all you've known remember all the sadness and frustration and let it go, let it go.

In light of recent events. Play it, see the video, then play it again while going over the lyrics. Made me cry. I love you guys, there I said it.
USE YOUR VOICE: Matthew Woolfrey
LYRICS: (some words mistyped, ignore)
You and me, we ain't never met but I know you inside out You're the kid in the back of the class with a backpack full of doubt You hash it out in your own way but hey, maybe you and me Oughtta start a remedial course so the other kids can see We got better things to be.
My family isn't always behind me or even at my side I give them and love and I show them my heart and they tear it deep and wide There been some times that I'd go it alone with an arrow in my pride I seen my family's bows in their hands and I know they shoot to guide But their target never died.
I got a voice and it ain't bein' silenced I don't care what the world says back I'm made of matter that doubles in power when I join in an attack On unnecessary insolence I wasn't very afraid to fight So use your voice, it may not change the world but together we just might.
You disassemble the pieces of you but I'll put them back as one You run around all the hate in your heart 'til there's no place left to run But Baby trust me, those storm clouds above you will one day turn to sun I wanna be there to celebrate you and the person you'll become It's a work that's never done.
You'll fall in love with the father of lies and your anger may pry loose Make no mistake there'll be sticks and stones and your ego will get bruised But think of those without ever having learned what it takes to go that far It's always been such a comfort to me that no matter where they are They can't ever dim my star.
I got a voice and it ain't bein' silenced I don't care what the world says back I'm made of matter that doubles in power when I join in an attack On unnecessary insolence I wasn't very afraid to fight So use your voice, it may not change the world but together we just might.
I tried to find an advantage in drugs and in bars and clubs and sex, I only learned how to cultivate fear from the sections that it wrecks Don't ever think that you're worth any less than the best thing that you've seen I wish you'd learn how to see you like that, I wish you knew what I mean You're MVP on a team.
You've got a voice and it ain't bein silenced, you don't care what the world says back You're made of matter that doubles in power when you join in an attack On unnecessary insolence, you weren't very afraid to fight So use your voice, it may not change the world but together we just might.

I fucking LOVE Bo Burnham, a brilliant rapper as well as social commenter and comedian.
All the seats at the Sunday masses Filled with the masses massive ass Classes bypass as fast as molasses Ceremonial reading glasses Read! A little bit of Leviticus All the kids are a little too little for this All the parents nod in agreement I think I can vaguely see what he meant Its too early in the morning glory To read another allegory story The father reads a little bit farther Assuring the assured that they need not bother When God In verse 45 Said that slaves are okay to buy He meant that people all from the start Each have slaves within their hearts Things that we have sold or bought Then are forced to pick our moral cotton He calls us to set these free Free our hearts from slavery And then as God goes on to explain The logistics of buying and selling slaves He was fucking around
In the back I sit and I nod To the beats that are bumping from my iPod My god theyre starting to pray And over the music I can hear them say "Dear God" "Dear Lord" "Dear vague muscular man with a beard or a sword." "Dear good all seeing being My way or the highway, Yahweh" The blue balled anti masturbator The great all loving faggot hater I'd like to thank your holy might for Making me both rich and white and Though this is your day of rest I come to you with one request There's so much pain beyond this steeple Wars and drugs and homeless people Sadness where there should be joy Hate and rape and Soldier Boy A world of darkness needs your light So I'm sure your schedules pretty tight but My dog just had surgery If you could fix that first...
Deborah Messing's fingers in a holy place Hail Mary full of Grace
Obama Could you pass some hope to the pope I know a couple dudes who want to elope See the Church said nope so bros can't cope The bros can grope but the bros can't cope They've been in love and they've been addicted Who said they shouldn't? Benedict did Cause in the holy land of the Lord He's the holy landlord And dicks are evicted Cause you can be a benedict If you've been a dick under Benedict But you cant have benedicts Because there's only one Pope With only one dick What? Yeah A dick on a Pope is just like a soap on a rope Cause its pointless unless in prison Throw up your Bibles Christ has risen Hallelujah now its raining men Because the gender ratios 1 to 10 Winos at the eucharist station Transgendered substantiation
Jesus wasn't the Messiah Get back on the heretic and I'm on fire It was Oedipus those holy nights The holy mother fu**ing Christ I'm a blasphema Post Katrina Crusin' the marina On a crusade the crew's aides And blast FEMA You're too late Were fucked We don't need ya

Yeah, Bo is fucking awesome!
My only concern is, he is so cynical. Not that there isn't plenty of justification for cynicism. Its just that, ultimately, its a self-loathing and self-defeating attitude.

One of the few bands i listen to that doesn't scream
Here by my side; an angel, Here by my side; the devil. Never turn your back on me, Never turn your back on me, again. Here by my side, it's heaven.
Here by my side, you are, destruction. Here by my side, a new color to paint the world Never turn your back on it, Never turn your back on it, again. Here by my side, its heaven.
Be careful, Be careful, Be careful, Be careful. This is where the world drops off, This is where the world drops off. Be careful, Be careful.
And you breathe in, And you breathe out, for it. Ain't it so weird, How it makes you a weapon. And you give in, And you give out, for it. Ain't it so weird, How it makes you a weapon. Never turn your back on it, Never turn your back on it, Again...
Be careful, Be careful.
Here by my side, its heaven, Here by my side, its heaven. Here by my side...

My current favorite band, Alesana. Warning, its screamo, so if you don't like screaming in music, don't listen to it
A touch of poison seals my fate the dawn echoes the night with my glory...the sun himself honors me
once king of roses, now lord of gold the Gods themselves envy my hand blessed with the gift of gilded touch fate wields its knife to cut the thread
I curse the day my dream became my descent suddenly I long for you, my only love
in my perfection I have no want yet eyes still glint with greed untold a folly as fatal as sin has now become the end of me
I curse the day my dream became my descent suddenly I long for you, my only love
have I not earned this, the gift of beauty within? how selfish were the Gods to keep their riches from my rightful treasure? I truly have become one of them...my fatal flaw
oh yeah! Ive got her hook, line, and sinker! thanks to me, shes her own new necklace! now shes good as gold!
I curse the day my dream became my descent suddenly I long for you, my only love
...cut the thread...

Nice, Crow. But the version you linked to isn't playable in the US for copyright reasons. The version below is ok, apparently:
The song reminds me of this ancient Zen Buddhist story:
A soldier named Nobushige came to Hakuin and asked: “Is there really a heaven and a hell?”
“Who are you?” inquired Hakuin.
“I am a samurai”, the warrior replied.
“You, a soldier!” sneered Hakuin, “What kind of ruler would have you as his guard? You look like a beggar”.
Nobushige became so angry that he began to draw his sword.
Hakuin continued: “So you have a sword! Your weapon is probably to dull to cut off my head.”
Nobushige drew his sword.
Hakuin remarked: “Here open the gates of hell!”
At these words the samurai, perceiving the master’s wisdom, put away his sword and bowed.
“Here open the gates of heaven”, said Hakuin.

ok, this is a flash back to 1987, one of my favorite songs, ever.
i couldn't decide which video to use. the one w/ the better sound is first but, although it IS the original MTV video, to me the imagery doesn't really go with the lyrics. on the other hand, the second video of the live performance i think is really cool the boys r so CUTE and the base solo is pretty hot but, the sound quality isn't as good
in any case if u like it be sure to read the lyrics as you listen.
I DEDICATE THIS SONG TO DEREK
NEW ORDER True Faith
i don't know but personally i think they are too cute to be straight
I feel so extraordinary Something's got a hold on me I get this feeling I'm in motion A sudden sense of liberty
I don't care 'cause I'm not there And I don't care if I'm here tomorrow Again and again I've taken too much Of the things that cost you too much
I used to think that the day would never come I'd see delight in the shade of the morning sun My morning sun is the drug that brings me near To the childhood I lost, replaced by fear I used to think that the day would never come That my life would depend on the morning sun
When I was a very small boy Very small boys talked to me Now that we've grown up together They're afraid of what they see
That's the price that we all pay Our valued destiny comes to nothing I can't tell you where we're going I guess there's just no way of knowing
I used to think that the day would never come I'd see delight in the shade of the morning sun My morning sun is the drug that brings me near To the childhood I lost, replaced by fear I used to think that the day would never come That my life would depend on the morning sun
I feel so extraordinary Something's got a hold on me I get this feeling I'm in motion A sudden sense of liberty The chances are we've gone too far You took my time and you took my money Now I fear you've left me standing In a world that's so demanding
I used to think that the day would never come I'd see delight in the shade of the morning sun My morning sun is the drug that brings me near To the childhood I lost, replaced by fearr
I used to think that the day would never come That my life would depend on the morning sun . . .

I remember the days when we talked for hours And we were young; we thought we had superpowers We kissed the sky, expanded our minds, thought we could fly We were dreamers, and we’d never die We were young punks but we showed potential Us against the world, we weren’t sentimental We weren’t our problems, our age or our paychecks And we weren’t taking any body’s sh!t
If I knew now what I knew then, I’d Back up do it all again, I’d Take a bow, take it real slow Take a ride down the yellow brick road
Knew now what I knew then, I’d Back up do it all again, I’d Take a bow, take it real slow Take a ride down the yellow brick road
Come on, come on wise up Come on, come on wise up Come on, come on wise
The winters were cold but we had your parents basement This underground was for sinners and we embraced it Magic pills, fairy tales, Syd Barrett’s ghost Oh, we’d all get on that spaceship We measured our lives in coffee spoons And those Friday nights quickly turned into Sunday afternoons We weren’t our money, our muscles or our regrets We were having a near-life experience
If I knew now what I knew then, I’d Back up do it all again, I’d Take a bow, take it real slow Take a ride down the yellow brick road
Knew now what I knew then, I’d Back up do it all again, I’d Take a bow, take it real slow Take a ride down the yellow brick road
I remember the days when we talked for hours And we were young; we thought we had superpowers We want our problems, our age or our paychecks And we weren’t taking any body’s sh!t
If I knew now what I knew then, I’d Back up do it all again, I’d Take a bow, take it real slow Take a ride down the yellow brick road
Knew now what I knew then, I’d Back up do it all again, I’d Take a bow, take it real slow Take a ride down the yellow brick road Take a bow, take it real slow Take a ride down the yellow brick road
Come on, come on wise up Come on, come on wise up Come on, come on wise

i kno this is 2 hard core 4 most of u but i luv the lyrics, lol
Sometimes I look at my own face and I don't know who I am I see a piece of everyone I know Buried underneath my skin
I don't wanna be like them I wanna crawl back in !!
It's hard to think of anything That I haven't heard before I hear these voices in my head They could be mine but I'm not sure I hear their telling me who they think I should be Why won't they leave me alone I can't deny it, I tried to fight it But I'm losing control
I don't wanna be like them I wanna crawl back in !!
Don't wanna lose my innocence Don't want the world second guessing my heart Won't let your lies take a piece of my soul Don't wanna take your medicine I wanna crawl back in !!
guitar solo
Sometimes I lie sometimes I crawl Sometimes I feel like I wanna die !!
I don't wanna be like them You wanna crawl back in !!
Don't wanna lose my innocence Don't want the world second guessing my heart Won't let your lies take a piece of my soul Don't wanna take your medicine I wanna crawl back in I wanna crawl back in I wanna crawl back in Hey!
