Before Alex gets here and eats you, I'm going to step in quickly and state that Guantanamo Bay detention facility has done NOTHING to increase the safety of the American People. I would hazard that it has done quite the opposite in fact. Guantanamo Bay is a symbol of oppression being used to RALLY more people to the terrorist cause. They can look at Gitmo and say 'this is the 'western' values they seek to impose, where our people are imprisoned simply for existing, without proof or justice'. And that's exactly what they have been doing.
I won't even talk about the Patriot Act and how close to a dictatorship you allowed yourselves to fall into. In what realm can it be legal for a government to hack into your private communications without a warrant or just cause. If the US Government felt like it, they could tap into each and every one of our conversations with anyone; explain how such a grevious breach of privacy rights can be executed without any evidence linking someone to a terrorist group, or to anything else?

Actually, one of my favourite books is completely about this - it's a hard scifi (as in, scifi which uses only existing or possible technology) set a few years in the future in America after a terrorist attack, and it follows the tale of a young US teen and his friends as they discover the dark side to the supposed security measures the US government use to control the populace. It's called "Little Brother" by Cory Doctorow, and it's freely downloadable HERE. I've recommended it to some of you before, but everyone should go read it

why do i mention his name u ask? because hes decided 2 become my reading buddy. he has decided to read comicality's 'a class by himself' with me (im reading it again). hes completely straight also. i should also mention that over the course of the last 15 minutes or so, he has been searching desperately on nifty.org for any of my 4 stories, because he wants to read them.

so what does this mean guys? i think it means we all now a friend in the outside world, the world of...heterosexualia. a friend who isnt afraid of the judgments he could face for reading "gay stuff" online. a friend who puts his masculinity aside (trust me, hes a jock) for a simple, good story. a friend who desires (but will not be allowed access to) my stories.

let it be known that today, we all made a slash fiction friend in the straight world. so let us raise our imaginary glasses & give cheers to devin!

i wanted to see that lovable lack of knowledge u have wen it comes 2 america lol. and in this case, canada too. i was reading about marshmallows & marshmallow creme yesterday & i came across smores & how theyre an american & canadian campfire traditional snack.

see, if e had asked simply 'whats a smore?' i wouldve lied & sed it was an american & candian cuisine lol

like they said, its roasted marshmallow, in between 2 pieces of chocloate (or on top of 1, or below 1) all in between two graham crackers
