I just watched the finale for the sixth season of Doctor Who. And I must say......it was awesome.
Gotta love the Silence.

Dunno if I've mentioned this show before but ARCHER!
It's an animated comedy about a secret agent called Sterling Archer working for a freelance intelligence agency run by his psychotic mother. Really funny, really dark. For example, there's an episode where he has to pretend to be gay and sleep with someone who's blackmailing his mother so that they can use the video of him having gay sex as leverage (the guy's from Cuba, working for the homophobic Castro). Cue lines like "How hard could it be to talk a gay man into anonymous sex?"
Watch it!

There's a new show out in the UK called Vicious, it's a sitcom starring Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi as an old gay couple who spend their lives bitching at one another. Pretty standard sitcom storylines but it's Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi for fuck's sake. Plus it has Iwan Rheon (from Misfits and Game of Thrones) as their upstairs neighbour. Worth a look for a chuckle or two if you can find it online, I know the flow of TV programs into and out of the US is fairly one-sided, especially when they're not made by the BBC.

Oh and since I mentioned it GAME OF THRONES. Because it is not only the best adaptation of a series of books I have ever seen, it's also simply the best television program ever. There's sex and violence and intrigue and dragons and anyone could die at any minute and every episode is jam-packed with amazeballs. So, yeah, watch it.

when too many people talk up a popular show, it tends to turn me off from it. not that im a hipster or anything like that at all, but sometimes i just dont care for getting into shows just because everyone else talks about them. game of thrones, how i met your mother (which i really dont think is funny at all), breaking bad, etc.
sorry alex lol

I love British shows, I can spend all day watching Ab Fab. Most popular American TV shows are a rip off of a British TV show. (American Idol, Shameless, Queer As Folk)
I usually only have my core shows I get a chance to watch and by that I mean record on my DVR. I usually just watch a show due to liking it not if it is popular. I like CSI, CSI Miami and since they cancelled (Damn you CBS) CSI Miami I have started to watch Criminal Minds. I didnt start watching American Dad until 2 years ago since I thought it was a bad remake of Family Guy. Now I like American Dad more than Family Guy.
I cannot stand shows like How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang, Two and Half Men, I would rather watch lesbian porn before watching those shows.

I hate hype as much as the next person, which is why I never got through Breaking Bad myself, but don't you dare put Game of Thrones in the same sentence as HIMYM.

...just when I thought there was hope. Miranda Hart is one of the least funny people I have ever had the displeasure of seeing on television. I know literally hundreds of comedians who are far more talented than her and will likely never get their own TV show. Terrible.

lots of the comedians from mock the week i find really funny in different circumstances. some of them arent that funny on the show but when ive seen their standup, theyre great & vice versa. frankie boyle for example. i find his standup all right but i love his commentary on MTW really funny
