I've heard her damn song about ten times today. I hope she rests in peace, but I hope no one begrudges me the joy of pointing out how ironic it would be if she overdosed...

I just assumed that she did. I mean, we are talking Amy Winehouse here. She has joined the ranks of Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix. Those are the only "awesome" singers that I know have died at 27.

Please. Please do not tell me you put Amy Winehouse in the same grouping as Jimi Hendrix.

i think he simply means joined the 27 clubs
and no, she wasnt at ALL great. she had no impact on the music industry & as far as unique music, as far as i know, most people i know only know her for her drug problems, NOT because of her music.

well yes, i just meant that she died at 27.
but i think she did make an impact on the music industry. IMO she was the person that made it possible for women with "weird" or unconventional voices & eccentricities to make it to the industry. she IS a landmark and a very important one for women.

Sinead O'Connor. Janis Joplin. Ella Fitzgerald. Nina Simone. Adele. Strong female singers with beautiful, unconventional voices and eccentricites have been a part of the music industry for decades, centuries before Winehouse and will continue to be a part of that long after she is forgotten.

One of my friend's father passed away cos of cancer on Thursday, and also on that day he had a concert to play and he played this song on the verge of tears. It's such a touching song I hope you all listen to it.

I've been listening to Ed Sheeran since last year, I think. I started liking him since his Songs that I Wrote with Amy EP. He's pretty awesome. Thanks for the recommends mate
