By my count, five separate teenaged boys have committed suicide this week, all of them died because of anti-gay bullying.
This comes on top of a story breaking where the Michigan Assistant Attorney General is stalking a college student who happens to be gay, and is criminally harassing the student.

Not acceptable, but there's something we can all do, if we have time.

Its a simple premise: gay people all over the world submit videos relating their experiences as kids, and explaining how things are going to change for the better. Or do a video showing how to make things better right in the here and now.

Thanks, for bringing this up, Trevor. I had noticed these suicides in the news as well.

This is such important stuff. I know I thought about suicide A LOT as a kid and up even into my mid to late 20s. I just couldn't believe my life would EVER get "better" and be the way I needed and wanted it to be.

Was I "harassed" -- well, not so much. And that is because I learned VERY early on how to "pass" most of the time for straight. So even though I wasn't bullied in the OVERT sense of the word, I was "bullied" in the covert sense. SOCIETY in general "bullied" me into pretending to be someone and something I wasn't. THAT WAS A FORM OF TORTURE! It hurt me. It hurt my family. It hurt my sense of self -- my sense of self-worth. It didn't leave any bruises on my body BUT it damaged me emotionally, inside, where eyes can't see. WORSE, I "internalized" some of that homophobia and used it against myself (depression, suicidal ideation) and, perhaps even worse yet, projected some of that internalized homophobia out onto other guys around me (fear, suspicion, ridicule, avoidance). It took YEARS of therapy to work through all that crap -- and to some degree I'm STILL working on it!

Anyway, yeah, this is so damn important.
