Congratufuckinglations man, uni's a hell of a journey. I've got one exam left on the 1st of June and I graduate on the 19th of July. In between I'll be partying hard, moving in with my boyfriend and trying to find a job for the rest of my life. Daunting but I can't wait.

It's well-deserved to us both. I'm glad to hear that you did find a place for you and your beau. Scary as all hell isn't it, knowing we're out in the world alone and there's nothing and no one that can really hold us back anymore. I don't know about you for certain, but I'm so ready. My parents want me to go to grad school but I'm ready now, I want to start leaving a mark on the world. Best of luck to you, I know the market's shit now for us both, but I kind of want to wish the world luck instead, it's gonna need it to compete with us.

| (taken from my blog): In addition to Barack Obama, who publicly declared his support for same-sex marriage back in May of 2012, being re-elected, the state of Maryland voted to legalize same-sex marriage. The state of Maine voted to legalize same-sex marriage. The state of Washington voted to legalize same-sex marriage. The state of Minnesota voted to NOT amend their constitution banning same-sex marriage (though it is illegal under statute). The newly elected senator from Wisconsin is the first openly gay U.S. senator. Sean Patrick Maloney, the newly elected Representative from New York's 18th congressional district, is the state's first openly gay member of Congress. Mark Takano, the newly elected Representative from California, will be the first member of Congress to be both openly gay and a person of color. Janice Daniels, the mayor of Troy, MI who made homophobic comments following the legalization of same-sex marriage in New York, was voted out of office. And all the way across the sea in Spain, the Constitutional Court, the highest court in Spain, upheld same-sex marriage by an 8-3 ruling. so it was a pretty big day the other day | |

| Well, congrats to the Americans and to the Spanish How many of you want to get married when same sex marriage has been legalised in your respective states? Or, how many of you see yourself married in the future? | |

| it's roughly the number of children each family needs to produce in order to maintain population, with the understanding that some of those kids won't be able to produce kids of their own through various potential ailments. | |

| Lol, it's not even about wanting to get away from stuff like that. I've wanted to have male children even longer than I've been aware that I'm sexually into dudes. I like that I'd be able to understand them and work shit out with them, and that it could be something where I'd feel more comfortable treating them as equals because I'd been where they were before. I don't think I could do that with a daughter; I mean I could be my usual self, but I wouldn't be able to look her in the eye and really say I knew what she was going through, you know? | |

yesterday, for u non-americans who didnt know, the supreme court heard the arguments for the "proposition 8 case" (the one that denies california gay couple froms getting married) & today heard the arguments for the "defense of marriage act" case which says the federal government only recognizes marriages between men & women.
the decisions wont be made until late june though

| Cheers. Best of luck to the litigating attorneys on behalf of the Proposition 8 case, and those working on behalf of Edie Windsor in Windsor vs United States. | |

| ive read that already bill o'reilly & rush limbaugh have openly admitted that the gays have basically won haha.
i dont watch or listen to political shows, on radio or tv, but i have to say that im not really as anti-bill o'reilly as a lot of others seem to be. my few experiences with him have been him saying some things that seem to push back against the extreme right. for example, i watched a segment of him arguing with some homophobic lady who was pissed off that a baseball team was having a "kids day" & a "gay day" on the same day & o'reilly was telling her to kinda fuck herself haha. another time i heard him in a clip saying that the rich white christians in this country have always held the power & that thats not really a good thing lol
