TV shows that you watch

skins, heroes(sorta ended), degrassi,glee, the gates, real world, lost(ended),and really wierd shows that my sister makes me watch such as americas next top model. there are probably more that i dont remember at the moment.

My friend just got me into watching Kings. You can watch it on Hulu. I'm done with the pilot episode and I'm loving it so far.

I don't watch TV at all. I don't even own one and haven't for over 10 years.

HOWEVER, I do watch some serialized TV shows either streaming from NetFlix or on DVD.

I have a particular fondness for 'weirdness' and especially adolescent boys from outer space (since I consider myself to be one). In other words, shows like Kyle XY (although Kyle wasn't from outer space he might as well have been), Roswell and, of course, the origin of the all: Smallville.

I did watch Lost. Some of it I liked and a lot of it I didn't but I do have to hand it to them, the way they could make the audience despise a character and then turn it around so you had sympathy for him, etc., but, all in all, it just didn't work and i *knew* the last episode was going to be a total let-down for everyone. Wasn't wrong about that.

I also liked the first season of Skins but haven't watched any of the others.

So.... that's about it for me. :\

I'd agree with you there. I liked the earlier season more than any other because it was actually a mystery. As the seasons continued I lost interest and the last season was just not good imo.

I think one of the most interesting episodes was in Season two or three where Hurly is seeing this friend of his and he follows him off into the jungle and the friend is telling Hurly that this whole experience of being on the island is actually a hallucination. That, in fact, they're both still in the mental institution -- and the only way off the island is to throw himself off a cliff -- which Hurly's friend then proceeds to do. Meanwhile, this other character, who says she's a psychologist, has been following Hurly and now that he has his toes over the edge of the cliff, she is trying to talk him down. Hurly is believing his friend from the mental institution and is saying 'but, if this is all just a hallucination, then you're apart of that hallucination.' She's saying, 'but what difference does it make? Where would you rather be, back in the mental ward or here on the island w/ me?' at which point they start making out on the edge of the cliff. Then at the end of the episode we see Hurly talking w/ his invisible friend in the mental ward and a few tables away is another patient, the woman who, on the island, is a psychologist. (que Twilight Zone music: NER NER NER NER)

I thought that was pretty cool. There were a lot of interesting characters in Lost that got developed throughout the various seasons but, all in all, there was no way the writers could pull all this 'weirdness' together at the end to make it make sense in a way that wasn't cheesy. Ultimately it was all 'for nothing' -- so to say. A lot of TV serials end up that way -- either they just end due to low ratings or they just wear themselves and their audiences out without ever really getting us any where in terms of our understanding of ourselves or the world we live in. {shurug} This is just one of the reasons I don't watch TV. The primary one being I just have too much else to do that interests me.

Right now, for example, I'm reading a novel entitled "Crossing Borders." Haven't gotten very far into it but I'm enjoying it so far. It's about a 19 YO gay boy who (apparently) gets into a relationship w/ an older guy (not sure how much older but I'm guessing late 20s?) who also just happens to be a policeman. From the back cover (things in parenthesis are mine):

"Tristan's got issues; he knows he does. So when his most recent girlfriend (well, she's a girl and she's a friend) dumps him via (a) messenger (who also just happens to be her brother), and he (Tristan) can't stop staring at the messenger's cock (umm, bulge) while he's breaking the news, Tristan figures it's about time he makes some changes. He formulates a foolproof plan to get himself someone who can show him what he's been missing (by, hopefully, getting hit on and picked up at the local Borders Books, get it? 'Crossing Borders' LOL) -- until who should crash his little adventure but Officer Michael Truax (aka "Officer Helmet"), the man who gave him a really expensive ticket for (skate) boarding without a helmet back when he was in high school. (new paragraph) Michael has been trying to catch Tristan for years ... to give him a second ticket (perhaps amnong other thigns). Suddenly he's faced with his 'Sparky' (his nick name for Tristan), all grown up -- and looking to get laid. The habit of protecting him isn't gone completely, but the opportunity is too much to resist. He figures the kid must know what he's getting into, so he takes him home (actually, to be fair, he takes him out to dinner first, but W/E). There, they carry on a curious dance, only to find out that neither is what the other expected, and that together, they're hot enough to melt glass. (Well, I haven't gotten to that part yet but hope, they say, does spring eternal, so we shall see.)"

I also like reading Nifty stories (obviously, that's how I got here) but all in all I like REAL LIFE best
