nihlism is a philosophical belief that life has no purpose, or that things that happen in life are nothing more than sheer coincidence or chance. life has no greater meaning, it just IS & that there is no purpose to our existence. if u ever watched "seinfeld", it was "a show about nothing" & literally just chronicled their mere day-to-day lives with no real storyline

there r, in my opinion, 2 parts to this chapter

part 1 consisted of noahs daily routine stuff which i put to show that not every moment of his life is meant to be read as dramatic with SOMETHING always having to happen. when we all have really dramatic or bad days, of course it changes what we do during the day. but we still DO do what we do during the day (lol?). noahs life is a wreck but he still wakes up, showers, brushes his teeth, goes to school, gets bored in class, comes home, relaxes, etc. his daily routine stays the same with those tiny things during the day that really make the day because that collection of essentially useless activities is what makes up our life (insert nihlism)

part 2 was to show the dramatic side of everything, which has to happen, otherwise u guys would get bored of reading every small detail noah does during his day. by the title name with the word "roots" i took that to mean that was happens TO us, affects what we DO. and so, what happened to noah is the root of his new morning routine (the jogging) & also much of what he thinks of during the day. so his mentality & psyche (roots) affects his daily life (nihlism)

i got hooked on this story and read it all in one night... instead of studying for my final of course. I can't believe how well written it is not to mention the suspense and character progression. I really cant wait to hear more about Noah and Jaden. We know Noah wants to get back with Jaden at the end of this chapter but i dont know if i see Jaden being ready to gt back together with Noah. He has personal problems to take care of with his sexuality. maybe i am wrong but thought i would give my two sense. cant wait for next chapter....

ha! knew it! im not surprised J didnt take him back but it still makes me sad to not see them together... i really like Jareds character and relationship with Noah i think Jared will be able to show Noah that the world isnt such a bad place... although i am surprised Noah condoned to drinking haha... oh boy jared and noah getting it on

In seriousness, I liked this chapter, and I appreciate that Jared is a bit more free-spirited than either Jaden or Noah. They both need to loosen up some, and Jared seems like a good foil for that.

yeah, i felt the same way, sort of. i guess lol

i kinda feel like noah & jaden need to relax lately. jaden anyway. noah is still fairly understandable. the reason being that, like ive said before, time has slowed down GREATLY since noah was hurt. its actually still within a couple months after the incident. noah & jaden are still 16 years old (if the story was caught up in real time, theyd be 18 now)

Good job Kell! Like trev said, it's nice to have a free spirit around the guy and the DO need to chill a bit but i thought that Jared was quite similar to Jade somewhat enforcing the things that he wants and considers fun on Noah. Only, those stuff come wrapped and with nice bow on top of it and Noah gave in. Maybe that's what he needs though, idk. Anyway, nice one kell!

I've never had experience with Noah's particular problem - having an ex who is also interested in girls, that is - but I can completely sympathise with the pain he feels at seeing someone he loves flirting with someone else. For someone who's usually so passive this might seem out of character but I think his beahviour is realistic in context. Also I thought you handled the whole situation with Jared very well. Weaker stories often go in one of two directions, either shacking up their protagonist the moment they've broken up with their SO (usually because the writer is bored of that couple) or having the protagonist just fool around a bit but then forget about their new 'love interest' the moment their ex comes into play. Noah's treatment of Jared is presented is a more nuanced way than either of these approaches. He isn't sure how he feels about Jared and that confusion is explored rather than glossed over. I hope we'll see more from the two of them as the story goes on!

obviously this whole thing with jared adds more drama to this already psychotic story, but im gonna try to represent him in a very light mood. i still have a few planned very depressing moments in the future but i dont wanna add him to that list. when hes around i want him (for the most part) to make the atmosphere light

i tried making this a light hearted chapter. like i said, theres been a lot of drama lately & i hoped to make a chapter that had a fun feel to it (aka, collin being there), the sneaking around in the house, their banter, spying from the bushes like a children's show, etc. i had fun writing this chapter

yeah, like collin said, didn't know that Noah was the kinda guy that'll spy on exes. you did achieve what you were going for. it was very light and fun to read. i dunno know if the story progressed at all though. anyway, good job kell

Hello everyone!!!

Okay so I just found this story in Nifty and I just had to check out the site. So far I've only read Noah & Jaden among all the other stories that are posted here. It's super awesome and I love it! It took me one sitting to finish all of the chapters and lemme tell you guys that I'm totally hooked!!! I want more!!!

So when is the next chapter gonna be posted? I really wanna know what happens next!!! All I know from reading all the chapters in one sitting is that Noah and Jaden are soul mates. There is just so much drama llama going on that it seems like they aren't. I mean come on, nothing can beat sand box love or all the feelings that Jaden has had for Noah ever since they were small, I mean come on, it was in his journal when he was a kid, you can call it a phase or what not but I'm just saying that sand box love beats infatuation anytime. I can go on and on but I'm just saying that if in the end both Noah and Jaden don't end up together then why is the title of the story Noah & Jaden to begin with? Why not Noah & Jared if that's the direction the story seems to be headed?

I was literally reacting to everything, I was crying and shouting and just screaming to my iTouch when I was reading the story.
I started reading it awhile ago when I was in school, during class, no biggie and I was just so engrossed with it! When I got home, I just sat down and finished it and just plainly enjoyed every single chapter.

It seems like the story can head into many directions but in my opinion (please don't bite my head off if you don't agree) everything that's happened, all the stuff that Noah and Jaden are going through will make their relationship stronger in the end.
True love will conquer all even if shit happens. Through thick and thin as the saying goes right?

Noah and Jaden Don't HAVE to end up together as the name suggests. It could be just a story about two people who used to be boyfriends, broke up and decided to go their separate ways. It could end up a story about two very different people we see than from the beginning.

well thank u. its always wonderful to hear somebody love my stories so much. and i know the feeling of being engrossed by a story. especially a specific author's work. it takes over ur whole mind for days, weeks, even months.
